![]() ![]() I won't go into the story, as there are a few reviews here that give a breakdown of the story, but I will say this book is worth taking a chance on. ![]() Being from the Gulf Coast myself, it felt like being home, since I haven't been able to move back since evacuating from Rita. I really enjoyed the authors knowledge of the Galveston area, including the history of the UTMB medical complex. It is not preachy nor overpowering and works well into the storyline. ![]() For those turned off by the reviews complaining about this being a work of Christian fiction - please do not let that dissuade you from this book. With that said, I enjoyed the story and the character development. I would blame this more on the editing process than the author, as it should have been picked up by the editor and corrected prior to publication. The only reason I gave this book a 4 instead of a 5 star review is based only on the editing, there are a number of typos (which honestly doesn't bug me as much as it seems to bug others) and in a couple of chapters the name of a minor character flip flops a number of time. ![]() This book is a great attempt at a first publication and I was not disappointed. So, I took a chance on this book and was very glad that I did.
